Doing regular exercise and being physically fit is great for building your confidence, reducing the risk of diseases, helping you to sleep better, reducing stress and generally increasing your overall energy levels. It makes you feel alive and ready to go!

Personal Training is for everyone, whatever your age, current fitness levels or medical conditions, whether you're looking to increase your fitness, tone and shape up, lose weight or go and run the marathon!

Working with a Personal Trainer is a fantastic way to kick-start, maintain or improve your fitness routine. Just imagine having your very own personal motivator! Someone to encourage and support you, someone to make it fun! You will be shown the right exercises to do for you, as well as the correct technique and intensity at which you should be doing them.

Consultation

You will receive a free consultation. This is a great opportunity for you to meet and feel comfortable with the trainer. Together, we will go through a health and fitness questionnaire and learn about your goals and objectives and what you would like to achieve. A programme can then be put together especially for you!

During the consultation you will be told exactly how the sessions work, the kinds of activities you are likely to do, also giving you the chance to ask lots of questions.

Measurements, progress and feeling wonderful!

Your blood pressure and lung capacity will be taken to ensure that it is safe for you to exercise. We can also take body measurements, body fat, weight, body mass index, strength, flexibility etc. This provides a baseline of where you are now, so that your progress can be regularly monitored and you can see real results!

However, we believe that real progress comes from within. It's when you feel better for exercising, feel more comfortable in your clothes and better about your body, when you have so much more energy and feel less stressed, when you really shine from the inside out, now that's progress!

The Sessions

The sessions last for an hour and take place in your home, my home (where I have a studio gym) or outside in the park, or even a mixture of these! There's nothing worse than doing the same old routine week in week out, the secret to exercise is to have lots of variety and fun!

A whole range of activities can be included such as walking, jogging, running, skipping, boxing, step, trampolining, cycling, floor exercises (eg. press-ups, sit-ups) weights and resistance training, core stability and flexibility work.

The exercises chosen will depend on your fitness level, any medical conditions, the activities you enjoy and of course what you would like to achieve. This will be determined during the consultation.

Pair or group training

This is a great way of getting results and you will have a great time too! You can train with your partner, colleague, friend, relative or as part of a small group. Mums can train together and bring their babies along and couples can train together and improve their relationship!

Training in a pair or group is a wonderful way to increase motivation, gain extra support and encouragement, build team spirit, build confidence, improve your fitness and well-being and have so much fun! The sessions can be indoors, in your garden or in a nearby park, or even a mixture of these.

Pre/post natal training

This is a special time and requires special training! Research shows that exercise has huge benefits for both mum and baby during pregnancy and there is absolutely no need to stop exercising during this time. As long as medical consent is given, it is an incredibly healthy thing to do!

Expectant and new mums can be helped to maintain their baseline fitness which will help to boost energy levels, relieve backache and improve posture by strengthening the postural core muscles, reduce constipation, improve stress, prepare your body for birth and regain your shape quickly afterwards. Exercise will help you look and feel great during this special time… and if you feel great, that's got to be good for baby!

Fifty+ fitness

Regular physical exercise is so important for maintaining good health and getting older with ease! Many of the physical, psychological and social hazards linked to aging can be avoided, slowed down and in many cases reversed by engaging in regular physical activity.

A functional, enjoyable and achievable programme can be put together, helping you to have more energy, encouraging better functioning in your daily living, also enhancing emotional and mental well being as well as great self-confidence.

Training for other conditions

Osteoporosis, diabetes, asthma, arthritis, obesity, back problems, sciatica, epilepsy, high blood pressure, heart problems, plus many other ailments and conditions can be effectively managed, slowed down and in many cases reversed by engaging in a well-managed fitness routine. In fact physical exercise is increasingly being promoted as an effective part of the treatment.
